Mike Shriberg, executive director of the National Wildlife Federation Great Lakes Regional Center, joined Michigan Radio’s Stateside program about the latest solution proposed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and just how a carp invasion could affect our state’s ecosystems, economy, and way of life.

Asian carp are an invasive species of fish that pose a major risk to the Great Lakes. If the fish ever establish a population in the lakes, they could do serious damage to tourism, fisheries, and ecological balance.
